Life Groups

For a breath of fresh air in your week! Multiple life groups meet in homes, apartments, local restaurants, gyms (even a few at the church building.) Each in its own way provides an opportunity to step from the isolation of anonymous Christianity into an experience of community. You’re welcome to try any out. Newcomers are warmly welcomed. Visiting doesn’t obligate you. And you won’t be asked to participate beyond your comfort level. Some people visit a life group before ever attending a weekend celebration. Groups vary in size from a handful to a size that stretches the meaning of “small.” They meet as often as weekly, as infrequently as monthly; most meet for an hour or two.

Each group has a web entry with pertinent info: where, when, who, what to expect. You are welcome to contact any of the contact people listed for more info, or just to confirm that the group is meeting at the stated time and place.

White Culture and Racial Identity Discussion

As a multi-ethnic church, we’ve always been concerned about the issues of race and ethnicity. A small group of us at the church wanted to give White people a place to become more aware of their feelings and reactions to the issues around race in the United States. We hope that this would also help us to dialogue with other White folks and people of color more productively as we move forward in our transformation in the Spirit. We want to create a space for White folks where we can be a “work-in-progress,” seeking to grow in our own racial identity even as we learn to fight racial injustice and learn to see life from the view of others who are different than us. Our goal is to offer a time about once per month on Zoom where discuss a topic in breakout rooms.
