Mission

We want to begin this year with a focusing idea— a framework for the next twelve months as we seek to partner with the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. We’re calling this our “You Belong.” initiative.

Each and every one of us desire belonging, acceptance, and love. It is the driving force behind so much that we do— trying to carve out a place for ourselves in the world. We don’t just want to fit in; we want to be seen, to be known, and to be loved for who we truly are. At the Vineyard, we believe that we discover this sense of belonging ultimately in the presence of the God who loves us, welcomes us, and accepts us as we are. We also believe that this belonging isn’t merely individual but that we are called to be a community of belonging that reflects the God that we serve. Furthermore we understand that belonging isn’t an end in itself. So we ask ourselves the question, “What is our belonging for?” This is the tension that we seek to embody as a church community, that we are both accepted and called to kingdom transformation.

We’re inviting you to truly belong, and we suspect it might look like this:

  • Learning about joy, community, belonging

  • Experiencing the presence of God

  • Learning what it means to belong to each other

  • Learning that it’s okay to have doubts
