Next Steps

If you have been visiting for a while, is it time to make a deeper commitment or connection? We want everyone to feel like Ann Arbor Vineyard is a home to them. Everyone connects differently, but we all share a need for community–see if some of the opportunities below could be a good next step for you!

Life Groups

The Ann Arbor Vineyard has a strong life group culture. We have a variety of life groups that meet throughout the week at different venues and we are always launching new groups To find out more about life groups contact the Lifegroups Coordinator, who will work on finding a life group to suit your needs.

Community Life Events

These provide a great opportunity to meet with fellow congregants as well as the staff and leaders. We have a wide variety of events throughout the year and these are regularly updated on our church calendar. The most popular is the Community Coffee hour held one a month on the third Sunday after the celebration. Let’s do Lunch: members of the congregation go out to lunch once a month at a local restaurant and all are welcome. We have other fun events like the Easter Egg hunt, the Church Picnic, and the Fall Festival, as well as many others which are also open to all. We are always looking for volunteers to help host these events and this also serves as a great way of getting to know people. If you would like more information about Community Life Events, feel free to contact the Community Life Events Coordinator.

Spiritual Formation

We believe that as a church we are called to support all who come our way however we can, on their individual faith journeys. We believe the ultimate goal for each one of us, no matter our stage of faith, is to continually grow, transform, and to become more and more like Christ. We do this mostly by engaging the practices that Christ himself demonstrated as our role model, and surrendering to God’s work in our lives. So whether you are new to faith or established in faith, we hope to encourage you and guide you in continuing to grow. Visit the Spiritual Formation page for more information and for spiritual practices to engage. Please contact Pastor Donnell for more information, or to meet in person to discuss support for your spiritual journey.

Give

As a church we are grateful for the gifts, large and small, which God has given us, and we are invited by God to respond to His grace by generously giving back, by sharing the gifts and blessings that have been received by us, and by caring for the world which God has entrusted to us. Giving is a sacrament and also a commitment. You can partner with us today by making a one-time gift today or setup a recurring giving account. No matter the size, every contribution is important and appreciated.

Serve

Working alongside one another is the best way to get to know each other and to serve in God’s name. We have a very wide range of service opportunities. See what looks like a good fit for your area of gifting!

Children’s Ministry

If you have an affinity for children, our Children’s Ministry welcomes you! Serving in Children’s Ministry is a fabulous way of getting to know children as well as their parents. Our Sunday morning team includes lead teachers and assisting volunteers for babies through fifth graders, as well as supporting roles like monitor, check-in station, and clean-up help. The commitment level can vary from holding a baby once a month to leading a class every week. We also appreciate behind-the-scenes help during the week to get supplies and class materials ready. To find out more about opportunities to serve in Children’s Ministry, contact our Children’s Pastor, Marissa Jadrich Ortiz.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry also welcomes volunteers for both the junior high as well as the high school groups. Youth groups meet during the 11:15 celebration on Sundays. There are also regular fun outings and activities, and chaperones are always needed. To find out more about Youth Ministry activities contact our Youth Pastor, Sam Tidball.

Homeless Ministry

The volunteers of the Ann Arbor Vineyard Homeless Ministry head to Liberty Plaza Park in downtown Ann Arbor for food and fellowship every Friday evening of every month where they serve pizza and coffee, and hand out bags of food. They also distribute warm clothing and sleeping bags in the wintertime. They are an amazing team of people, and it is a humbling and also an enriching experience to serve the members of our community suffering from homelessness. There are also other ways to join in with the activities of the Homeless Ministry, visit the ministry webpage for more information. For any additional questions about the Homeless Ministry or to find out how to volunteer, contact our Homeless Ministry Team: homelessministries@annarborvineyard.org.
