The Morning Office

Proclaim with me the greatness of the LORD;* let us exalt his Name together.

May God be merciful to us and bless us,* show us the light of his countenance and come to us.

All who take refuge in you will be glad;* they will sing out their joy forever. You will shelter them,* so that those who love your Name may exult in you. For you, O LORD, will bless the righteous;* you will defend them with your favor as with a shield.

"Be still, then, and know that I am God;* I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth."

He told them another parable, 'The kingdom of heaven is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour till it was leavened all through.'

"Be still, then, and know that I am God;* I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth."

Happy are they who have the God of Jacob for their help!* whose hope is in the LORD their God; Who made heaven and earth, the seas, and all that is in them;* who keeps his promise for ever; Who gives justice to those who are oppressed,* and food to those who hunger. The LORD sets prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind;* the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous; the LORD cares for the stranger;* he sustains the orphan and the widow, but frustrates the way of the wicked. The LORD shall reign for ever,* your God, O Zion, throughout all generations. Hallelujah!

"Be still, then, and know that I am God;* I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth."

The Lord is my shepherd and nothing is wanting to me. In green pastures He hath settled me.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name. May your kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours are the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Grant to me, Lord. I pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that I, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ my Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to this new day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
