Ann Arbor Observer Article
There's a very positive article about Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor in the May 2008 issue of the Ann Arbor Observer, which is available at bookstores and newsstands now. The 4-page article, entitled "Tending the Vineyard" begins on page 35.
While the article is extremely positive, and we highly encourage everyone to read it, we did want to clarify one misquote in the article, which appears at the bottom of page 36.
The errant quote is as follows: "We want our church culture to be part of Ann Arbor culture. We want it to be politically liberal and left leaning--like most of Ann Arbor and most of our congregation."
Here's Ken Wilson's response:
"In my interview, I indicated that we wanted to be a church that reaches the heart of Ann Arbor and surrounding communities, a city which I described as left leaning. The quote suggests that I want the culture of the church to be politically liberal, which isn't my view at all. We want our church to be committed to the kingdom of God, which transcends any political party or agenda, and the members of Vineyard span the political spectrum in their own views, which is the way it should be."
